In December last year, Micromax-backed YU Televentures introduced its first smartphone, the Yureka, to compete against the likes of the budget 4G LTE-enabled devices.
Now the company has recently introduced its third smartphone, the YU Yureka Plus. Similar to the brand’s previous devices, the Yureka Plus is also a budget-centric 4G LTE-enabled smartphone.
The phone offers similar specifications as its predecessor, the Yureka, but comes with a full HD display while the Yureka offers an HD screen.

The YU Yureka Plus and Yureka, both smartphones offer similar design. They measure 8.5mm around the waist and weigh 155 grams. However, the Yureka Plus is being offered in an additional Alabaster White variant, while the Yureka was only launched in a single Moondust Grey variant.
Display and OS
The YU Yureka and Yureka Plus, both come with large 5.5-inch displays. However, the Yureka Plus offers full HD resolution screen panel, resulting into a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch, so it offers better media experience than its predecessor. On the software front, the YU Yureka was released running Android KitKat-based CyanogenMod OS, while the Yureka Plus runs the latest Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen 12 OS.
On the performance front, the Yureka Plus and Yureka, both offer similar configuration. They are powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processors with 64-bit computing. The performance is further supported by Adreno 405 GPUs and 2GB of RAM. For storage needs, they are equipped with 16GB of internal storage, which users can further increase up to 32GB via microSD cards.
For imaging, the Yureka Plus and Yureka offer 13MP primary cameras with LED flash, full HD video recording support, CMOS image sensors, face detection, HDR, ISO, geo tagging and touch to focus etc. For selfies and video calling, they are equipped with 5MP front snappers.
Connectivity and Battery
Their connectivity and battery features are also similar. They offer dual-SIM support, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, micro-USB 2.0, and A-GPS. These are powered by 2,500mAh batteries, which promise eight hours of talk time and 210 hours of standby time on 2G networks.
Conclusion: YU Yureka & YU Yureka Plus Review
The YU Yureka and Yureka Plus are among the best 4G LTE-enabled smartphones under Rs 10,000 segment. They offer large displays, latest operating system with popular CyanogenMod ROM, excellent connectivity options, decent camera and storage features, and decent battery.
However, the YU Yureka Plus costs Rs 1,000 more than its predecessor, and offers a full HD display for better media viewing experience.
